Dr. Vutpakdi, or "Dr. V", as our clients call her, is our staff clinical neuropsychologist. Her knowledge, training, and skill are integral to Project ReEntry's success. She provides individual and group psychotherapies for our clients. Jill is a hands-on therapist who will help a client progress in any way that she can. She is excellent at helping clients identify and gain access to needed resources in their community. She also assists with staff training and client intake at Project ReEntry.
Jill grew up in the Houston Metropolitan area in Spring, Texas. She received her Bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Her doctorate is in clinical psychology with a focus in neuropsychology. She worked with the Michael E. DeBakey V.A. Medical Center here in Houston for her predoctoral internship gaining experience such as neuropsychological consultation, inpatient trauma recovery, and outpatient substance abuse, among others. She performed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology with the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. She worked primarily with inpatient traumatic brain injury on her fellowship.
Jill has worked with the Project ReEntry team since 2003. She has also worked in Houston with neurologically impaired clients at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) for 4 years as a clinical neuropsychologist. Previously, she worked with the St. Charles Hospital & Rehabilitation Center in Port Jefferson, New York with acquired brain injury patients as an assistant neuropsychologist and, after licensure, a neuropsychologist.
Jill has professional affiliations with the Houston Neuropsychological Society and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
